Question for All You Craftees

Ok, so last night I wanted to make just a simple little card, nothing to challenging, just for fun. I wanted to use some of the scraps that are sitting in a little bucket on my table to feel a little better about using up my scraps, but nothing more. No particular project, idea, person...nothing.
I hadn't made anything for a couple days and if I go to long without creating something I lose my mojo.
I didn't want that to happen again.
So I made this card.

And after it was all finished, I really didn't like it at all.
I don't think it is very good and I definitely wouldn't show it off to anyone.
In fact I am not sure I will even send it to anybody.
That's how much I dislike it.

So my question and I want an honest answer here...
If you make a card you really don't like, what do you do with it?

Send it to someone anyways?

Give it away to a donation?

Tear it apart and use the bits on another project?

So chime in here, leave me your answer, I really want to know and it is a great time to come out of the lurking shadows and make yourself heard.

(disclaimer: this post is in no way intended to be a way to fish for compliments or give myself a good 'ol pat on the back, I want your honest opinions here, really! Seriously, don't even think about posting about this particular card you see here....don't do it!)

Also, my blogging buddy, Donna, is giving away some goodies over on her blog...You don't want to miss out! All you have to do is leave a little comment about the best thing you ever won. Most people know that for me it was that pink Chatterbox trunk at CHA...Seriously, I never win and that prize couldn't have been better.

I just came across your blog and I really like it. I like that it's not only cards, but also that you are telling us about yourself and your opinions on things. Thank you.
As to your question about what to do with a card you do not like, I don't know. I just made one too, that I just do not like and I spent time on it, but don't know if I should give it away. So I will be checking back and seeing if someone else has given you a wise answer.

I personally don't send cards I am not happy with to people who stamp or scrap HOWEVER, people who don't do either will think it is awesome so I say donate it or something like it.

Personally i like it...so if ya want you can send to me with a love note in it ;)

Actually, the card really isn't that bad. I kinda like it.

You could just set it aside and if you are in a pinch, use it then for something quick on the fly, KWIM?

I have one sitting in my "completed" pile that I haven't done anything with for a while - what I need to do is dismantle it and remake it the way I want to remake it.

I have also thrown it into the "donate" stuff; sent them anyway, and taken them apart. I guess my answer is "all of the above".

Although, I do like that card.

I HAVE made cards that I don't like! I usually give them to a person who is not crafty. Someone who is not crafty thinks it's good even if it isn't!! LOL!

I personally like the card, no sense wasting all that time just to tear it apart. I say still use it. You can send it to people or donate it. Why waste the supplies and time. Especially for something that looks perfectly fine. When I have stuff that doesn't top my list of something I really like, I reserve those to send to non-crafty people or people who I know will like it.

I usually tear them apart and try something else if I really don't like them

If I don't like it, I trash it after saving what I can. I wouldn't send off or give away anything that I really didn't like. I do send out cards that I don't love but if I truly don't like it or can't stand it, I'm embarassed to send it to someone else.

Then again--your card definitely is not bad. You can always send it to me :-)

It depends, if it's a 'not sure if Iike this' card then I keep it & put in my cards for sale/use box because one man's trash can be another's treasure. If it's a 'this is a piece of junk' card, I'll keep what's salvagable and the rest goes in the 'round file'

Oh and by the way--tag! You're it! http://kathatstamps.blogspot.com/2007/04/ive-been-tagged.html

I know what you mean, but people have all different tastes and what you hate, someone else will love and viceversa. I think your card is pretty. I do think you could send it to someone. Don't waste the time or the materials to just throw it out--send it--it will make someones day.
Love your blog.

Most of the time if I really don't like the card I just recycle it in my paper recyling bin. It's my way of thinking that I may have made a dud but at least I'm recycling. LOL!

If I really don't like a card I made, I take off pieces that can be used elsewhere and toss it. But usually I give it to a friend who can use it. Most of my friends don't rubber stamp, so they think even my bad cards or good. It's amazing how that works, isn't it?

Hi, I think I am the only person that doesn't like that flower stamp. I have that set and only like the argyles. I would trade it off if I could find all the blocks that belong to it (long story lol).

SO I say DONATE it! There are 2 current (that I know of) card donations to troops that is going on right now. Here are the links (and both have gREAT candy to be had!!)
