Can this Be True??

THIS is the most fascinating person of 2005??? Can this be? How does Barbara Walters decide this crap, roulette wheel perhaps?? The world has become a scary place when Camilla Parker Bowles is the most Fascinating person of the year. I thought for sure, that maybe, just maybe, I might be thinking that fascinating meant something else. So, I looked it up.

Fascinating - To hold an intense interest or attraction for

Yep, that's what I thought. And she is just not it. But then again, look at who else is on the list:
  • Tom Cruise - Scary, not fascinating.
  • Dakota Fanning - if I have to see this child in another movie I will just scream!
  • Teri Hatcher - Ugh! So glad I don't like Desperate Housewives because I cannot stand her.
  • Jamie Foxx - Let's remember, he is on my punch list!
People, these are scary times we live in. I am suprised Jessica Simpson, Nicole Ritchie or Paris aren't on the list. Babs, you have lost your freaking mind.

Just Another Meme Monday

I am finally totally done with my swap cards, it was a very long weekend. It seems that in my work daze I had forgotten how to craft and when I went to complete my swap cards, I noticed that I had attached all 30 eyelets BACKWARDS!! And since, all the products were Stampin' Up!, there was no way to get extra eyelets or paper to re-do the cards in time, so I had to dismantle all of them and then remove all the adhesive and put them all together again. This time the right way. When I realized that they were backwards, I literally began to cry and swear like a truck driver all at once. So, now that they are all done and gone....Seems like a good moment to screw around.

So, this week's Meme Challenge:

Our exercise this week is to list 20 things you enjoy doing [rock climbing, roller skating, baking pies, making soup, bike riding, horse riding, shooting baskets, running, reading poetry, etc.]

When was the last time you let yourself do these things? If you want, next to each entry place a date. Don't be surprised if it's been years for some of your favorites. THAT WILL CHANGE! Do what you love!

This is a great challenge, I have been wondering this for weeks, What do I like doing? Gonna really have to think about this one.

20 Things I like to Do (but maybe haven't in a while)
  1. Go to the Scrapbook store (and shop).
  2. Scrap with Friends.
  3. Ride my bike
  4. Camping
  5. Get a mani-pedi (any me time is good)
  6. Sleep in late
  7. Watch cable (I don't have it, so it is always new and a treat)
  8. Surf the web for kooky goodness
  9. Listen to my Cds
  10. Go Dancing
  11. Go to a Concert
  12. Get some new clothes (what are those?)
  13. Take a ton of pictures outside on a sunny day (brrrr, chilly here)
  14. Seeing a great Indie film that few people know about
  15. Going to the Theatre
  16. Have a party
  17. Staying in my jammies all day....oh joy and happiness!
  18. Baking
  19. Catch up on all my fav websites
  20. Play with my photos in Photoshop
So, that was harder than I thought and most things I haven't done in so long, I can't remember the last time. How sad. Note to self, do more fun stuff...

MIA

So, this is usually used for missing in action, but in this case it could stand for Me In Action. SO BUSY!! I am so swamped at work that I am working at home at night and I still can't get caught up. I am about a week behind and no matter what I do, I just can't get caught up. It is killing me, I am drowning in busy work. I hate it. It is times like these when I remember just how much I hate my job. I think the only reason I am happy most other days is that I am not busy and free to do as I please.
Plus, I have been sick since Halloween. It seems that it is on it's way out, thank goodness but with the illness in full swing last week, it was very hard to get anything done.
That's where I am, that's what I am doing. And I am also working on my swap cards which need to be in the mail by Saturday....Yikes!!
With this, the eve of Thankful Day, I only saw the very end of LOST (because I am so busy) but it was touching to see what everyone "had" and made me thankful, which is hard to remember when you are stressed.

  • Thankful that I am healthy.
  • Thankful that I have a kid that loves me and I get to love.
  • Thankful that we aren't livin' on the streets (yet).
  • Thankful that I have a job, no matter how much I hate it right now.
  • Thankful that I still have a month til Xmas.
  • Thankful that I got to do something scrappy today by making my swap cards.
  • Thankful that I have tonight to myself and it is quiet.
  • Thankful that someone makes me feel special every day.
  • Thankful that that same person makes me feel beautiful.
  • Thankful that I will get to see my aunt tomorrow, I have been meaning to visit.
  • Thankful that there was a little snow this morning.
  • Thankful that I don't have to go into work on Friday. (may still have to work though)
  • Thankful that I have so much to be thankful for.
I saw the Eurythmics on Leno the other night and I have always loved Annie's voice. There was something about the song she was singing that just touched me, spoke to me. It was a song I needed to hear and I need to listen to again. Amazing.

I've Got a Life
I've got a life
though it refuses to shine
I've got a life it aint over
I've got a way
it's the only things thats mine
all I'm asking for is tenderness
a little tenderness

ooo it's a cruel place
you never asked to be here
nobody cares and no ones gonna help you now
it's dog eat dog the human race
the only thing they'll do is hate you

such a crime to be unkind
turn your cheek pretend your blind

I've got a life
though it refuses to shine
I've got a life it aint over
it aint over
I've got a way
it's the only thing that's mine
all im asking for is tenderness
tenderness

I've got a life
though it refuses to shine
I've got a life it aint over
it aint over
I've got a way
it's the only thing that's mine
all im asking for is tenderness

be strong now baby
gotta be strong now baby
gotta be strong!

Scary Meme of the Week

The meme of the week as posted on the Pea

This week [Oct 31st] since it's the creepy day itself we are talking scary. Some
people's guilty pleasures music picks were scary last week [lol!] but this week
we are listing the scariest movies we've ever seen.
10 Scariest Movies (I've seen):
  1. Exorcist. Linda Blair and the spinning head.....gave me nightmares for weeks.
  2. Nightmare on Elm Street. I remember very clearly seeing this movie with my mother and I was definitely not old enough to see it!
  3. Children of the Corn. Malachai!!!
  4. IT. Something so creepy about Stephen King movies. Oh, and there was that clown.
  5. Blair Witch Project. I had the benefit of seeing this movie right when it was released, so no one ruined it for me and I was scared. Any movie with children laughing is scary.
  6. The Shining. Those kids creep me out.
  7. Evil Dead. Yes, it is funny(now), but first time seeing it....the woman in the cellar, scary!!
  8. 28 Days Later. Had countless dreams someone was chasing me.
  9. Poltergeist. Carol Ann!!!
  10. Halloween 1 and 2. Still the best scary movies.

Halloween Hoopla!

Love Halloween and loved the Trump costume. The kids at school thought he was the president. Have they seen George lately? And one kid asked him, "Are you supposed to be a lawyer?" Only the grown-ups knew who he was. It was still a good costume and in 20 years he will look back and we will all laugh.
