I have been pulling out old photos lately to inspire me to scrap.
It seems to be working.
But it also seems like more of a walk down memory lane than anything else.
I've been thinking a lot about my life, where I've been, who I am.
I've pulled out old pictures of me, or the kid, and on occasion, I've even been getting a little misty.
So unlike me.
It's amazing how fast time flies.
And I look at old me and try to imagine what she would think of this current version of me.
Would old me walk right up to current me and give her a good smack, "What have you done?"
Seriously.
When I found this picture of me and the man, I instantly felt like I was 18 again.
Totally stupid and naive.
And completely smitten with this man from this very first prom night.
It was the easiest I have ever fallen in love in my life and the hardest, for sure.
And as much as I hate this picture of me (I remember I was eating fruit salad as it was shot), the memories of myself in this moment, in this picture, are priceless.
It just makes me want to take more pictures.
And pull out some more oldies.
I'm still astounded at how skinny we were and amazed that these too people made the coolest kid on the planet.

This layout is great. I recently was given old prom photos from my Mom and they brought back a flood of memories. You make a cute couple and Max is the best of both of you!
great layout. loved reading this post, simone. thanks. it's both fun and sad to grow old, huh?
You have more courage than I do Simone - I rarely look at those photos let alone scrap them!
It's a lovely page!
Many Blessings,
M.
How fun (and brave) to scrap pictures like these. lol! I love this page. But then again, I love all your pages. Great elements...
Wonderful page!!! Look how young you look in this pic! Maybe I should drag out some oldies....I too met Brian young!
Great page!
I loved the trip down your memory lane and even loved the layout more! Thanks for sharing it with us :)
Great page and boy does "The Kid" look like him or what?!!
Gosh...even I got misty eyed reading your post! Those are really some things to ponder...huh?
Great page....and great thoughts. "The Kid" is lucky to have such a cool and insightful mom! :-)
What a sweet layout. Hope you're okay, and didn't feel the quake.
Simone, I think this is wonderful, its great memories for you, and great that you get to share them with Max. Maybe syc will incorporate "older" pics into one of the challenges. You did a fabulous job.
damn girl....you are a brave one.
wow, this is so great! I LOVE your journaling...so special and a great tribute to Max's dad, it's great you can put aside your differences, hurt feelings and showcase such strong feelings on the page. it's not that bad of a picture! I think my morning after the prom pic was worse!
I love this layout Simone, and the journaling is so wonderful.
smiles,
Your scrap pagecame out beautiful. The picture of you and your husband are priceless.
Mary
I give you ALOT of credit for scrapping this moment in time....and having the legacy for your wonderful "creation"......I know many who have not approached revisiting the past as eloquently as you have, Simone!!...KUDOS to you!!!!
creative blessings, Debbie
These kinds of stories are what scrapping is all about for me!
I am not a scrapper, but the page looks really cool to me. As for the walk down memory lane, I have very few pictures of back then. I am not a saver and I never have been a picture taker. I think if you scrap stuff from when you were young, someday it will mean a lot to that really cool kid of yours.
Thanks I like yours 2!
Especially the "our first date" picture haha!
love,
Larissa
what a sweet post!!
love to LO, btw...
ahhh..
that is SWEET
just like Max
he is one cool kid
i need to come visit you and the new store!!
I really loved this post. :-) What a great layout. And a cool trip down memory lane for you...
