Happy Summer!

Now that it is officially "summer", I have been cranking out some cards to send out to spread the well wishes for this humid season.
So far we have been pretty lucky here in Chicago, only a few days of gross heat so far which is good news for the girl who doesn't have her air conditioners in yet!

The card is 5x5, thought I'd change up my sizes a little.
The paper is from American Crafts and it was one of the 10 cent sheets I got at the big sale over at Stampology. It is double-sided, so the "red" is a perfect match and that blue is from another sheet from the same line, so that matches perfectly too! Love that!
The cardstock is Bazzill, they have so many colors, you can always find a match.
The flip flops were stamped in black and then colored in white and a blue gel pen.
Small bling was added to them as well, I love the Hero Arts gems because there are 4 sizes, so you can always find the perfect match.

I am really loving my scallop punches now, which just makes me want more!
But I am having a slight problem when I punch paper with a white core, like the double-sided paper I used here.
See, how I get some of the white on the edges, like it was ripped

Does anyone else have this problem?
Know a solution?
Just think it looks kinda crappy with that white on the edges like that, like I chewed the paper or something.

Well... I personally think it looks just fine (though I question whether or not you DID actually chew on it....) - you could always run a little ink around the edges in a contrasting or matching color - it would "frame" the image nicely. But, like I said, it really IS fine like this... (have you ever read the book "ISH"? ... obscure reference, but if you have, you'll know why I thought of it just now! LOL!)

Love the summer-y card. Can't believe I have NO flip-flops in my stash...

Spazzy! you're back! I kept checkin' and no new posts!
I can't help you with the punch thing, but i kinda like the sanded look, so I'd sand around the edges.
LOVE the bling!

It looks fine the way that it is. Maybe your punch is a little 'dull'. Try punching foil and wax paper and see if it helps at all.

Love the card. I just call it distressed and go with it. LOL You always find the bargains (10 cent paper!!!). I'm shopping with you!

I think it looks fine, but if it bothers you that bad, I'm with Elizabeth, run a marker around the edge. We are always our own worst critics, that's why we share :)

Yes! I do have the same problem! I usually leave it and figure it looks "distressed." I had to laugh at the whole family story....aren't families fun? So glad you are back!
