Hey Y'all...

forgot to tell ya, in one week, I will be in Austin, Texas visiting my best bud, Eric.
Went last year in March and had a blast.
Started a small road trip scrapbook while there and on the plane last year, plan on continuing that (and finishing up last year).
These are two 12x12 pages(seems to be a problem with the clickable feature I used to have, anyone know a solution?) I made last year after I got my pictures back, I loved so many of them because they just exuded the feelings I had when I was there, know what I'm saying?

This year I am going with my new digital camera in hand, so I am envisioning a huge magnitude of photos. And my baby brother is accompanying me, so I am envisioning flattering pictures of myself as well, is that too much to ask for?

So besides my big plans of drinking cherry limeade, seeing the Alamo and asking to see the basement and watching those bats fly...What else don't I want to miss in my second trip?
Who's been to Austin, lives in Austin (I know there is someone, now I can't remember who of course) and can give a girl some ideas.

Eric may not live in Austin much longer, so this may be one of my last trips to the great state, so flood me with info, I'm ready to add to my list.

Page details: Patterned Paper - Scenic Route (this is my favorite collection), Cardstock - Bazzill to match, Letter stickers and Rubons - MM

Here are a few pointers (yes, I used to live there...)...if you are looking at the Alamo, you're in the wrong city! Go to 6th street, hear some jazz (I think the Elephant room is a favorite-it's been awhile), go take photos at the wildflower center or President Johnson's ranch, which is on your way to the Alamo via Fredricksburg, which is another fun town to EAT (especially pastries)in. Austin has become kind of yuppie with all of the computer people, so you really may not hear y'all, unless you hit certain parts of town. Have fun! Oh, yea, and eat Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream and/or go to Amy's Ice cream! And eat Tex-Mex food.

Hey I live in Austin! Cool that you'll be visiting our fine city! As rudald pointed out - go to San Antonio if you're looking for the Alamo :-) but in Austin, some of the "cooler" areas are South Congress Ave and South 1st St. 6th St is ok if you like the college bar scene. Personally, I'm old and prefer 4th St. :-) If you like bbq, have your friend take you out to the Salt Lick - it's a little hike from Austin, but the food is AWESOME and the place is very Texas - it's in a dry county so you can bring your own cooler of beverages! Hmm that's all I can think of right now, it's late & I need to sleep, but I'll try to think of more & come back later. :-)

Oh by the way, there's a Salt Lick on 360 in Austin - don't go to that one, it's not the same, go to the original! :-)
